Monthly Mash-Up: Serena's and Elena's

Hooray for today! It's time for another CKC monthly mash-up from Deborah Koch at Ma Cherie Kids. I love seeing her creations on our pattern group so I always consider it an honor to feature her work here on the blog. Here's what we're going to be mashing up today:

First of all, Elena's Twirly Peasant Dress is one of my favorites. Just look at her spin! Elena's is a gorgeous dress all on its own. But just to get creative, Deborah decided to take the super twirly skirt of Elena's and mash it with a different top:

Here we have the unique and elegant look of Serena's Stripwork Double Layer Dress. Serena's does feature a beautiful stripwork skirt, but today we're going to focus on the bodice and straps. Won't they look perfect with the super twirly skirt of Elena's?  Let's take a look at what Deborah made for us today:

Isn't it the perfect twirly dress for Spring?  Let's look more closely at the details.

Deborah found all of her fabrics at Hobby Lobby, as well as the black trim that she added to the center of the bodice. It's the embellishments like this that I really appreciate in her creations.

Then of course we have the gorgeous twirly skirt. What I love about this skirt is that it is not simply one skirt with two ruffles at the bottom. It is actually two full layers of skirt, each with its own ruffle! Together they make quite an impact when you see the dress in person.

I also want to show you a detail on the back of the bodice and I'm so glad Deborah took a close-up of it. This bodice has loops in back for the ribbons to tie through. This allows us to get a perfect fit every time. The straps also come out freely so they can tie into a gorgeous bow.

Isn't it a beautiful combination in back as well? Another great mash-up from Deborah! I can't wait to see what she comes up with next month. What sort of mashups would you like to see?

Let's Create! ~ Kristen
